OUR MISSION
Portsmouth Smart Growth promotes innovative ideas for a vibrant community.
Since 2014, we've been working to bring ideas and discussions to our community to make Portsmouth more liveable, walkable, and economically and environmentally resilient.
Portsmouth Smart Growth is a volunteer group of locals who organize and support events that encourage discussion on city planning and development. We invite experts and champions of smart growth to bring ideas and creative solutions to our town. Our love of Portsmouth is at the heart of our mission and the hope is that together we can create a healthy, prosperous, and vibrant future.
We've hosted speakers regionally, nationally, and internationally recognized in their fields. All our events are free and open to the public.
OUR OPERATING PRINCIPALS
Our goal is to foster a liveable, vital city environment for all who live here or desire to live in the city of Portsmouth. We believe this can be achieved by building a cohesive community through open discussion and creating spaces for creative solutions and historical perspectives. We hope to bring forward community solutions that affirm equity and sustainability at a human scale.
We support and encourage all the principles of smart growth.
DONATIONS AND SPONSORSHIPS
As a non-profit, volunteer-run organization, we rely on donations and sponsorships to pay for the expenses involved in hosting an event. Though we welcome donations from many different types of entities, we do not explicitly or implicitly endorse third parties in exchange for sponsorships. In addition, sponsorships and donations do not influence the content of our events, communications, or programming.
